AGM 2019

October 13th, 2019 at 17:00 - 19:00

Hi All,

LFTC’s AGM will be held at 17.00 on Sunday 13 October in the Bear Pit (which is the big room in the basement) at Pub on the Park, 19 Martello Street, London E8 3PE.  All are welcome.
An agenda will be circulated in advance, and it would be great to see as many of you there as possible.

LFTC is wholly run by unpaid volunteers who dedicate their spare time to ensuring this friendly Club meets the needs of all its junior and senior athletes.  Without this band of volunteers it wouldn’t operate.  At the AGM we will elect the new committee for the year (both executive and non-executive), and in accordance with the Club’s constitution (a copy of which you can find on our website) all positions are up for re-election, other than the position of chair which is a two year post.

For details of the executive committee positions and a summary of the roles go to https://www.lftri.co.uk/club-committee. The non-executive roles are set out below (we are slightly changing the remit of these this year with a view to better meeting the needs of our members).

Non-executive roles:
– Para-Tri and Inclusiveness Officer and team
Representing the needs of our para-tri athletes, ensuring the Club’s activities are inclusive and meet the needs of beginners and newcomers to the Club.

– Marketing Officer and team
Promote the Club and its presence on social media, editing the weekly Club newsletter, dealing with the website and communicating with Club members so they are well informed of what is going on. This will include responsibility for designing, sourcing and distributing Club kit.

– Events Officer and team
Organising the annual Club training camp, LFTC hosted races and socials.
We need lots of volunteers for this hugely rewarding post.  The Club’s events offering is a real strength, and the more people that help over the next year the easier it will be to do.  Most of our members are involved in our events in one way or another, including attending Club camp, racing in the aquathlons we host and enjoying the socials, but we need a critical mass to continue to run these.

– Club Captains (one each for men and woman)
Act as a figurehead for races the Club targets, encourage member participation at training sessions and races, and provide support to age-group athletes.

Each non-executive member will be supported by a team of volunteers.  Joining one of these teams is a great way to get involved and support the Club, without the pressure of being an elected member of the committee.  All roles are well supported, and the committee is a friendly and relaxed bunch.  If you have questions about any of the roles including what will be involved by joining one of the teams set out above (and we really need teams to make this work, so please sign up!) do not hesitate to get in touch with any of the current committees.

If you would like to nominate yourself for a role please complete this short form (http://bit.ly/lftc-committee-2020) by 22.00 on Saturday 12 October.  We will also welcome nominations at the AGM itself.

Looking forward to seeing you all on the 13th!

Best,
Richard.
