If you have a turbo trainer or rollers with a speed sensor you can join any virtual ride on Zwift. Please read more here or ask on the forums for help on how to get started. We appreciate Zwift might not be everyone’s cup of tea, you are still welcome to join our virtual rides by doing your own workout at the same time and accessing the voice chat / video chat.

How to join virtual rides

If you wish to join a virtual ride on Zwift you need to do the following steps:

1. One or two days ahead of the event, you need to (a) follow the ride organiser on Zwift (as per event details) and (b) add “LFTC” to your name on Zwift. This is the easiest way for the ride organiser to invite you to the ride meetup.
2. Once you get invited to the meetup, do accept the invitation on the Zwift companion app – this invitation might come last minute, check even just prior to the ride itself.
3. Get on Zwift before the start of the ride: we recommend starting Zwift about 15 minutes before the ride to get everything ready (don’t forget water, towel, setting up Discord or Zoom, etc.). If you miss the start even by one second you are going to miss the ride.

FAQs

What if I cannot/don’t want to join Zwift?

You are still very much welcome to join our rides. You can do your own workout at the same time and join the voice/video chat on Discord or Zoom (see details below). Don’t worry, many people on Zwift are joining the rides but actually doing their own workout with their own power output, so you are not missing any part of the experience!

What if I do not have a turbo trainer?

You are welcome to join the voice/video chat on Discord on Zoom – see details below. You can cheer or do your own workout at the same time and feel part of the experience.

Voice Chat and Zoom

We use a voice (and text) chat to coordinate outside of the game. Join the LFTC server (you should automatically join the #general text chat) and from the menu you can join the voice channel.
